Of Sons, Sea and Sand ♦ for

Beach! Beachbeachbeachbeach! Yay! Best medicine ever. Sun, sand and sea. Perfect. Donna had spent ages getting ready. How hard was it to pick a swimsuit? Apparently, very hard. It had taken ages to find the perfect fit, but she had eventually settled on a black swimsuit - not wearing blue, not with the two skinny boys being all bluewars! Right, black swimsuit, hot pink sarong and matching flipflops, and of course sunhat and oversized sunglasses. She'd also put on some superstrength suncream.
She had then busied her getting Percy and Adi ready. She fed them and ensured Percy was flly charged. She had smothered Adi in suncream and found sunhats for the pair of them. And of course, she found buckets and spades.
She had made a picnic for everyone and packed beachtowels and drinks and extra suncream. No one could say she was unprepared. "Doctor! Adam! Come on! Hurry up!!!"

She handed Adam a credit stick. Yay for money. "Here, in case you boys need ice cream." Which would be likely. Very likely. "We're going for a walk. Stay out of trouble, and stay near the TARDIS. There's food and drink in the baskets and suncream."

The Doctor simply rolled his eyes and patted Percy on the head. They were great parents. They just needed alone time. Falling into step with Donna, he sighed slight. "So how are you feeling?"
no subject
Donna walked along so the waves rolled over her ankles every time the sea swept in. She slipped her hand into the Doctor's. "Me? Oh, you know. I'm fine. Always alright, me."
no subject
He was trying but he just felt daft to do this sort of thing.

Besides, isn't that what best mates were for? She gave his arm a tug, to pull him into the water with her. Paddling was always more fun with two!
no subject
Smiling, he hoped into the water and playfully splashed Donna for her efort. Oh yes, get them nice and wet, always amusing!
no subject
She gave a loud squeak as she was splashed. Well, two could play at that game, mister! She splashed him back.

"Oh now this is not what we're meant to do," the Doctor teased, wondering how far Donna would like to push it.
no subject
She kicked more water at the Doctor. "Oh? Mister Time Lord scared of a little water?"
no subject
He ran at Donna and made a grab to knock her into the water with him. Yep, he was going there.

So much for being the mature companion. Besides, a little fun now and then was good for you. Especially when you got to roll around in the ocean with the Doctor.

"Alright, point take, you win. I'm not tasting that water again," All these years and all that cleaning and yet the water still tasted like someone dumped a heap of salt in it. Yuck.

Donna gave a smirk of victory before throwing her arms around the Doctor in a hug. Well, it was supposed to have been a hug, an innocent one at that. But somehow they both ended up being dunked in the water again.
no subject
"think if we doubled teamed him, we could throw Adam into the sea?" the Doctor teased, obviously not being serious. Though sometimes he did want to throw the brat into the water and let him float off into the distance.

Percy had grown bored of sandcastles and was busy watching the Doctor and Donna in the water. He took a photo and put it in a heart frame before printing it and holding it up to Adam.
no subject
"Oi! Love birds! Percy wants to play!" Adam yelled, smirking from the middle of the epic tower he'd built all around himself. Well, he was going to do it right if he was playing in the sand.
no subject
She sighed. "Better head back to the kids. Looks like they're getting bored." So much for 'alone time'.
no subject
"Honestly, it's just embarrassing sometimes. Try to keep your hands off each other."
"Oi!" the Doctor protested, going quite obviously red.
no subject
Percy handed his heart-framed photo to the Doctor with a happy squeak, and if androids could grin, that is what he'd be doing right now.
Poor Doctor. Everyone was hellbent on embarrassing him, it seemed.
no subject
"It's lovely Percy. Really lovely."
"... It is?" Adam asked, raising an eyebrow and throwing the towl back at Donna. "Knew it."
no subject
She caught the towel and used it to clean off Adi a little. "The sandcastle is looking good..."
no subject
"It is. Very well built," the Doctor offered, reaching out a hand for Percy to take. "I think we should get ice-cream."
no subject
Percy squeaked with joy and gladly took the Doctor's hand. Adi, in turn, took hold of Percy's hand.
Donna stood up and brushed the sand off of herself. "Ice cream sounds good. Adam has the credit stick."
no subject
There was no denying it, Adam was becoming a right little monster. Though little was metaphorical, of course.
Annnd of course, Percy was never far away from Adam, toddling right after his big brother in an excited manner.
no subject
She adored Adam, she really did. But he was becoming more and more of a brat by the day. "Maybe we could ground him for life?"
