Of Sons, Sea and Sand ♦ for [livejournal.com profile] justneededtea

Beach! Beachbeachbeachbeach! Yay! Best medicine ever. Sun, sand and sea. Perfect. Donna had spent ages getting ready. How hard was it to pick a swimsuit? Apparently, very hard. It had taken ages to find the perfect fit, but she had eventually settled on a black swimsuit - not wearing blue, not with the two skinny boys being all bluewars! Right, black swimsuit, hot pink sarong and matching flipflops, and of course sunhat and oversized sunglasses. She'd also put on some superstrength suncream.

She had then busied her getting Percy and Adi ready. She fed them and ensured Percy was flly charged. She had smothered Adi in suncream and found sunhats for the pair of them. And of course, she found buckets and spades.

She had made a picnic for everyone and packed beachtowels and drinks and extra suncream. No one could say she was unprepared. "Doctor! Adam! Come on! Hurry up!!!"

"You're leaving me alone with them? Ah yes, you two are perfect parents," was that sarcasm? It was indeed. Adam rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the rather epic sandcastle he was building with Percy and Adi. No doubt they'd be at it for a while.

The Doctor simply rolled his eyes and patted Percy on the head. They were great parents. They just needed alone time. Falling into step with Donna, he sighed slight. "So how are you feeling?"

"Wellll, so am I," Which meant Donna wasn't. It was a good always a good lie but it only worked on people who didn't know all the tricks in the book. "If you ever have any problems or, you know, you're upset. I can help. I'm always here to help."

He was trying but he just felt daft to do this sort of thing.

"I don't bottle anything!" He did, he pretty much bottled everything he could. He didn't like showing when he was hurt or vulnerable. It was like admitting he wasn't a hero or that he wasn't as strong as he made everyone think he was.

Smiling, he hoped into the water and playfully splashed Donna for her efort. Oh yes, get them nice and wet, always amusing!

Oh how mature. Kicking water at Donna, he grinned and backed up, moving away from Donna. Well, it was fun to have a play around. He didn't get to make castles like Adam does. It was totally unfair!

"Oh now this is not what we're meant to do," the Doctor teased, wondering how far Donna would like to push it.

"Not at all," the Doctor kicked the water at Donna and splashed about, trying to soak her as much as he was doing so. Smirking, the Doctor bent down, obviously he had a very cunning plan.

He ran at Donna and made a grab to knock her into the water with him. Yep, he was going there.

"Oh gross, I inhale some," the Doctor whined as he spluttered out a mouthful of disgusting salty water. Pulling a face, he pulled himself up and ruffled the water and sand from his hair with a dorky smile. Well, this was definitely fun after all. He did love the beach!

"Alright, point take, you win. I'm not tasting that water again," All these years and all that cleaning and yet the water still tasted like someone dumped a heap of salt in it. Yuck.

The Doctor laughed and spat out the water in his mouth, hugging Donna in return and splashing them about in the salty water. If Donna told him her little 'true fact', he would of been a very confused Time Lord. There was no denying that one.

"think if we doubled teamed him, we could throw Adam into the sea?" the Doctor teased, obviously not being serious. Though sometimes he did want to throw the brat into the water and let him float off into the distance.

Adam turned his head and picked it up with a small raise of his eyebrow. Looking across at the Doctor and Donna, he had to smirk in amusement. What on Earth were they doing? He didn't really know, admittedly, but he was sure it was somehow romantic.

"Oi! Love birds! Percy wants to play!" Adam yelled, smirking from the middle of the epic tower he'd built all around himself. Well, he was going to do it right if he was playing in the sand.

The Doctor helped Donna out of the sea with a playful smile and guided her along as both of them made their move to get to both their 'kids' and a sand covered Adi. Adam smirked at the two of them and tossed them up the towel.

"Honestly, it's just embarrassing sometimes. Try to keep your hands off each other."

"Oi!" the Doctor protested, going quite obviously red.

Oh Lord, this was quite embarrassing to watch. Pulling a face, he tucked the picture frame away hastily into his pocket and gave Percy his best forced smile. Well, he couldn't trample all over Percys hard effort. He had to humour the little guy.

"It's lovely Percy. Really lovely."

"... It is?" Adam asked, raising an eyebrow and throwing the towl back at Donna. "Knew it."

[identity profile] justneededtea.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Adam snapped his mouth shut with an innocent look. Alright, so he was bitter and just looking for an excuse to make the Doctor angry and unhappy. Who could blame him? He was a stubborn git.

"It is. Very well built," the Doctor offered, reaching out a hand for Percy to take. "I think we should get ice-cream."

Adam nodded his head and pulled out the credit stick, but he didn't hand it over like the Doctor wanted. He possessively kept a hold of it and lead the way in an obvious 'I'm better than you' manner.

There was no denying it, Adam was becoming a right little monster. Though little was metaphorical, of course.

Annnd of course, Percy was never far away from Adam, toddling right after his big brother in an excited manner.
